One point of interest here is the second movement, which is based on a section Adam originally wrote for the Farming Press video “The Beth Chatto Gardens”. The melody is a simple figure, beginning  E - E - G - E - C -  A - D - B - E - F. This melody is formed by taking the letters of the name  “Jesus Christ” and laying them down  on the keyboard,  so that  H  is A, I is B, etc. J is actually C, and is provided in the base before the melody starts.

The third movement is written in 7/8, which gives it a slightly primitive feel.

Written in 1999 for full SATB choir with soprano soloist, this work is complex in it’s harmonies as well as rhythms.
